Officials: One Country Two Systems sustains Macao development

A senior Macao official has praised the policy of "One Country Two Systems" as the core driver for the sustainable development in the special administrative region.

Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan, Macao's Secretary for Administration and Justice said that history proves that the policy of "one country, two systems" has maintained social stability in Macao and promoted sustainable development in the region.

She made the remarks at a seminar marking the 6th anniversary of the return of Macao to the motherland on December 20, 2005. The Secretary hailed the basic law, saying it ushered Macao to a higher-level.

Xu Zeye, Deputy Chief of the Liaison Office of the central government, also spoke at the seminar, praising Macao¡¯s economic achievements and social harmony.
