A website named "Guangzhou Mama" has proved so popular that it has become known as the city's "second women's association."

The website started off as an online chat group, initiated by a few young mothers a year ago, with the aim of discussing topics such as child birth and education.

Since then, the number of visitors has boomed, and now there are 6,000 registered members, mainly white-collar women. The website receives at least 1,000 hits a day, and also arranges activities.
