Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun may leave Warner Bros. Records for EMI Taiwan after her contract with Warner expires next year, according to Taiwanese newspapers.

It was reported that the move was caused by shifts in Warner management, especially the upcoming departure of Chow Kin-fai, Warner president for China. Chow is being forced to step down because of declining record sales in recent years, including the unsuccessful sales of Sun's newly released album, "A Perfect Day," the newspapers said.

The Singaporean superstar is expected to join EMI Taiwan, as her friend and former Warner vice president Chan Tze-tsan is expected to set up a new record brand under EMI on Dec. 1.

Sun did not reply to inquiries. But Sun's assistant told a Taiwan newspaper that the singer was shocked at the news of Chow's resignation. "Sun's schedule is booked till next February. We'll see what the new plan is then," the assistant said.

A Warner spokesman said Sun had just renewed a one-year agency contract with the company, but her record contract will be due for renewal soon. "Sun is a great singer and we'll try to keep her at Warner," the spokesman said.
