Bank Of China wins Human Resource Management award
(Asia Pulse)
Updated: 2005-11-22 16:40

Bank of China (BOC) was received the award of Best Human Resource Strategy in Line with Business by Hong Kong magazine China STAFF, a bank spokesman said Monday.

Wang Zhaowen, the spokesman, said China STAFF chose BOC because the bank's dedication to human resource management and development has been acclaimed by the market.

BOC has transformed into a joint-stock enterprise, ahead of its market listing scheduled for early next year. Wang said its human resource management has been the "most profound, complicated and arduous revolution" during its reform process.

BOC said earlier that in its reform it would not cut its staff, now standing at about 180,000.

China STAFF is the only bilingual magazine in China's mainland and Hong Kong that tracks human resource management. The BOC's award was the first ever given to a state-owned or state-controlled Chinese enterprise.
