China-ASEAN Business Council convenes The China-ASEAN Business Council held its 4th meeting on Tuesday in Nanning, capital city of southwest China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous Region. Some 100 delegates from enterprises, associations and chambers of commerce of China and the 10 ASEAN countries attended the meeting. Wan Jifei, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), suggested at the meeting that the chambers of commerce of China and ASEAN countries should nail down a target for future cooperation, and raise cooperative level so as to achieve a win-win result. Wan appealed for efforts to run well the China-ASEAN website to facilitate cooperation and improve the regional competitive power. In order to promote China-ASEAN free-trade zone construction, a joint declaration is expected to be issued at the meeting. Established in November 2001 in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, the
China-ASEAN Business Council is a semi-official body dedicated to enforcing
economic and trade relations between China and the Association of Southeast
Asian Nations. |
