For sale: Moon property (CRIENGLISH) Updated: 2005-10-09 13:36 There is the Lunar Registry in America for people
to buy land on the Moon, and now here in the Chinese capital Beijing a "Lunar
Embassy" has opened.
A local company calling itself "Lunar Embassy" claims that anyone can
purchase an acre on the moon by paying 298 RMB, about 37 US dollars. According
to the company, customers will receive a certification from the company that
ensures their property ownership including rights to use the land and minerals
three kilometers underground.
The CEO of the company, Li Jie didn't clarify the relationship between the
company and the Lunar Embassy in America, but said he has spoken to its founder
Dennis Hope before.
Buying an extraterrestrial property obviously is a new thing for most Chinese
people. But one man told reporters that it was not to be believed, and he
wouldn't consider purchasing.
