Belgium and Spain have no room for error

BRUSSELS, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Belgium and Spain must both go all out for a win
in their Group Seven clash on Saturday and hope other results go their way to
keep alive their hopes of reaching the World Cup finals.
Spain are better placed than Belgium but each team must face the fact that
they could fail to make the finals for the first time since the 1970s.
Spain were last absent in 1974 and Belgium in 1978 but if leaders Serbia
& Montenegro win the group, Spain or Belgium can only finish second at best
and would have to take their chances in the playoffs.
"This game is the most important for me as the coach of Spain. In fact
probably ever," Luis Aragones told reporters at a news conference on Friday.
"Getting to the finals is every Spanish person's dream. We will have the
hopes and dreams of millions in our hands when we play on Saturday."
"It is a must-win game and nothing less," he added.
With two matches left, Serbia have 16 points, Spain 14, Bosnia 13 and Belgium
11. Spain can still win the group while Belgium can squeeze into second place
and the playoffs.
