Liu Xiang goes to graduate school

Athens Olympic champion Liu Xiang has become a student again at the Graduate School of East China Normal University, in Shanghai.

The 110m hurdle world record co-holder registered Wednesday. He will have separate classes at his training base in suburban Shanghai, when classes begin in late Novermber after the athletics star completes his trip to the East Asian Games in Macau.

Liu Xiang says he would like to become an international sports official, following the footsteps of Chinese table tennis legend Deng Yaping,now a member of the International Olympic Committee.

Liu Xiang has also set up a scholarship to help fellow students facing economic difficulties.
