PRAGUE, September 22 (Xinhua) -- Former captain of the Czech soccer national team, Pavel Nedved, will definitively not return to the national team, he said to Czech Radio Radiozurnal (CRo1) Thursday.

Former captain of the Czech soccer national team, Pavel Nedved, will definitively not return to the national team, he said to Czech Radio Radiozurnal (CRo1) Thursday.Nedved said that he was considering whether to return to the Czech team in the past weeks, but that he finally decided to prefer to play only for Italian Juventus where he plays in midfield.

"It is my final decision. It is not easy to play all the matches for Juventus when one is 33...It seems I wouldn't be able to play also for the Czech national team," he said.

Nedved did not rejoin the Czech team even though he had said earlier that it had been his great dream to play the world championship.

When he had extended his contract with Juventus through 2008 in July, media speculated about his comeback to the national team. Nedved even discussed the possibility with national coach Karel Brueckner.

Nedved said he has remained in regular contact with his former colleagues from the Czech national team.

"The team had big problems with the roster which affected the last matches. Now the last two decisive matches will be played, the team is of very good one and can get to the champs," he said.

He said he considered to return to Sparta Praha where he played before he transferred to Lazio Roma in 1996.

"I would like to play for Sparta again very much. It is my club and I will always be is fan. But when I return back home, I will be rather old to play," Nedved said.
