Chinese star center Yao Ming has arrived in Hongkong as an ambassador to the China AIDS Initiative to promote public awareness on the disease.

During his three-day visit to the Special Administrative Zone, the 7-foot-6 NBA center will take part in a fund-raising dinner Wednesday night and talk to some 3,000 young people on the issue. And of course, he will show off his skills a little bit.

Yao had appeared in a public announcement together with fomer NBA legend Magic Johnson earlier this year. Yao and HIV-carrier Johnson made the announcement to promote knowledge on AIDS and HIV.
