Qiandao Lake brings in green water, swelled pocket
The reporting team arrived at the famed Qiandao Lake (Thousand Islets) on August 21, 2005. It's the third leg of this long trip alongside the mother river Qiantangjiang River. According to reltive experts the Lake is a huge reservoir covering an area of 580 square kilometers on the upper reaches of the Xin'an River, 160 kilometers from Hangzhou and Huangshan Mountain. There are 1,078 islets in the lake, which is why it is also known as the Thousand Islets Lake. The lake is embraced by hills with green trees and scores of scenic spots include Huihua Isle, Mishan Isle, Fengping Hill, Bijia Hill, and the Lesser Stone Forest. The touring ship cruises on the Qiandao Lake on August 21, 2005. The director of the County Information Office Qian Meixian said local authority has always made the environment protection the top priority on their working agenda, while at the same time the economy of Chun'an has also developed by leaps and bounds. "We have to secure a good biological and environment while at the same time money has to be made as well." Remarked Qian Meixian, a female grassroots carder at the picturesque country. In order to maintain the pure water and fresh air there local administration has made a lot of efforts including enforcing a ban over the coal use and setting up 3 rubbish-processing factories. Covered by green trees in a considerable 73.9 per cent of the whole area of Chun'an, the air quality maintains above the standard level the year through, which has established a well-known most suitable living place fame for the County. Last year it was awarded the title "The International Flower Garden City." Nowadays the Qiandao Lake has risen to a trustable name brand in the nation, as brought in more opportunities for local economy development. The Qiandao green fish is of the case. The man-raised delicacy, named Lianyong Fish would grow to over 50km when it gets mature. The fish has edged into the markets throughout China and been long well received by people. |
