The downpours hit the city on Friday night and lasted until Saturday noon, cutting off traffic in the outskirts of the city.

A number of people were also reported injured but exactly how many is still unclear.

The local government has evacuated local people from some of the more severely affected areas of the city.

The meteorological services say the rainfall in the city will continue for a couple of days.
