Japan, S. Korea draw in women's East Asian clash

dominance into a goal as they played out a goalless draw with hosts South Korea
on Saturday in their final match in the East Asian Football Federation Women's
Cup.

Japan seized
control of the match and flirted with a goal on a number of occasions, only to
end their campaign with two draws and one loss after being held scoreless in all
three matches.
Defender Aya Shimokozuru came closing to scoring for Japan by hitting the
post in the first half while striker Shinobu Ono shot wide of the post with only
goalkeeper Kim Mi Jung to beat three minutes from time.
South Korea won the tournament with seven points, one point clear of North
Korea, who beat China in Saturday's other match. Japan finished on two points
and China had one point.
