US, DPRK delegations hold third one-to-one meeting in Beijing

The delegations of the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) held their third one-on-one meeting Thursday morning, attempting to narrow their differences in the ongoing talks aimed at denuclearising the Korean Peninsula.

The outcome of the DPRK-US bilateral consultations is widely believed to have an impact, to a large extent, on the development of the current round of six-party talks, which also involves China, the Republic of Korea, Russia and Japan.

The US delegation head Christopher Hill and his DPRK counterpart Kim Kye-Gwan first held a 75-minute meeting at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on Monday before the start of the multinational talks.

They met again Tuesday in "long" discussions that the Americans described as "good" and "businesslike."
