Knife-swaying robber shot dead in Beijing

Policemen shot dead one knife-swaying robber who resisted arrest Wednesday morning when chasing and trying to seize him at a residential quarter in the eastern Chaoyang District in this national capital.

The suspect committed grave robbery and theft, according to a local police source. And policemen from the Tongzhou public security subbureau, an eastern suburban district of Beijing, were about to capture him when the robber swayed his knife to resist arrest.

The policemen fired a warning shot before shooting him dead, the police said.

The case is being investigated.
