Olympic champion Hu Jai produced a dazzling final dive to win the 10 metre platform title at the world championships on Saturday, giving a resurgent China their second gold medal in as many days.

After leading through the first four dives, Hu appeared to give the gold away with a woeful fifth attempt which scored mostly 3.5s and 4.0s from the judges.

But he rebounded by registering 9.0s across the board on his last dive to finish with a winning total of 698.01.

Jose Antonio Guerra Oliva earned Cuba their first medal in Olympic or world championship diving, taking the silver on 691.14.

Russia's Gleb Galperin claimed the bronze on 656.19.

Olympic champion Guo Jingjing continued her domination of the three-metre springboard event on Friday, capturing her third consecutive world title ahead of fellow Chinese Wu Min Xia.
