Barcelona president Joan Laporta has continued to heap praise on Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, but still denies that the club is interested in signing him this summer.

Henry has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp after Barca ended a six-year wait for the Primera Liga title, but the official stance of the club is that they do not plan to dip further into the transfer market following the signings of Mark van Bommel and Santi Ezquerro.

Laporta said: "Henry would be ideal for Barca for his quality and glamour but there is nothing going on at the moment. He is a fantastic player as we have always said."

Coach Frank Rijkaard has good relations with Henry from the Frenchman's time at Monaco, when Rijkaard also had a house in the Principality.
