Explosion kills 2 in Anhui Province

Firefighters rush to the explosion and fire scene of a chemical plant in Huaibei city, Anhui Province June 1, 2005. Two workers were killed and several more were injured in the accident, and houses within several hundred meters from the scene sustained damaged. The explosion was said to be triggered by chemical leadage, and residents near the plant were evacuated due to toxic gases in the air. The accident is now under investigation. [newsphoto]
