Xu Jinglei

After the success of "Letter from an Unknown Woman", Chinese director Xu Jinglei is preparing her second film about China's only Empress Wu Zetian during the Tang Dynasty.

The film, titled "Days in the Forbidden City", will shed Wu Zetian's contrasting inner kindness and mercilessness as she grew from an innocent girl to a powerful empress.

Celebrated writer Wang Shuo and Liu Zhenyun will take care of the screenplay and production, which guarantees the quality of the film.

It will begin shooting this October.
