Suicide car bomb kills at least 7 in Baghdad

A suicide car bomber blew up his vehicle near a U.S. military convoy in central Baghdad on Tuesday, killing at least seven Iraqis and wounding 16, police said.

The U.S. military had no immediate information on any American casualties.

The blast destroyed several cars and rattled windows in the city center. Thick black smoke rose into the sky.

The explosion was close to the site of a double suicide car bombing that killed 22 people including two Americans on Saturday.
