10 killed in suicide car bomb blast in Baghdad

A suicide car bomb exploded at an intersection in southern Baghdad on Monday, killing nine Iraqi policemen and a civilian, an official said.

The car bomb hit two police vehicles that had stopped at the intersection and several policemen who were standing nearby, police Capt. Talib Thamir was quoted as saying.

He said nine policemen and an Iraqi civilian were killed and six policemen and three civilians wounded, according to the report.
