Job fair aides diverse field of applicants (China Daily) Updated: 2005-05-09 10:51
A special job fair was held in Huangpu District of Guangzhou, exclusively for
disabled and unemployed citizens, single mothers and recently released
ex-convicts.
The fair's representatives said that people from these social groups have
more difficulty finding suitable jobs. The district has more than 2,000 people
from these groups.
A judicial official from the district said departments will monitor the work
performance of people released from prison in their first three to six months of
employment.
So far, a large number of these disadvantaged people have successfully signed
long term job contracts, the Radio Guangdong Website reports.
