Hosts for Champions League finals set

Stade de France in suburban Paris will host the European Champions League final in 2006 and Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, was awarded the game in 2007.

This year's final is scheduled for May 25 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations awarded the 2006 UEFA Cup final to Philips Stadium in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and the 2007 final to Hampden Park in Glasgow, Scotland.

At Tuesday's meeting, the committee also decided on the qualifying format for the 2008 European Championship. The two top teams in the seven qualifying groups will join co-hosts Austria and Switzerland in the finals.
