Elder calligrapher gains copyright for spoon art

A 64-year-old man in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, has obtained a patent for
"spoon calligraphy."
The man, surnamed Wang, had been practising brush calligraphy without much
recognition since childhood, but 10 years ago, he derived inspiration from a TV
programme and started writing using spoons instead.
Wang obtained a patent for his spoon calligraphy from the State Intellectual
Property Office last November. He uses different spoons to practise writing
every day and says he has been in good health since he began spoon writing, the
Henan Business Times reports.
