The project, titled Shaolin Temple: The Legendary Monk, will be co-produced in Hollywood with a sky-high investment of US$15 million.

A dream team of Asians are expected to star in the film and Hollywood masters Ann Lee, John Woo and Yuen Woo-ping are in talks about directing the project.

The original leading actor, Jet Li, will again star as the hero in the new mega-hit.

The first film is credited with popularizing the kung fu film genre in China.
