Charitable supermarket opens for business (China Daily) Updated: 2005-03-31 09:43
Shanghai's first charitable supermarket opened this past Sunday, the Xinmin
Evening News reports.
All the products, including souvenirs with autographs from celebrities, brand
backpacks, stationeries and French wine, were donated by individuals and
organizations.
In the first half day alone, the market saw a turnover of more than 1,000
yuan (US$121). All the proceeds will be donated to Project Hope and other
projects that aid the underaged poor.
