A male fox sacrificed his freedom to save his mate from captivity.

A female fox that had an injured leg was adopted by clerks at a company storehouse in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

Four days later, her mate appeared at the firm about midnight. It made noise and disturbed the clerks on watch all night. When the clerks went to see the female at daybreak, they found it had escaped.

It turned out the male had attracted the keepers' attention for his wife to escape, the Business Times reports.
