Two tomb robbers found a perfect place to entomb themselves, www.people.com.cn reports.

Farmers from Dazhang Village in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region attempted to rob a tomb of the Warring States Period (475-221BC).

They bombed a cave and entered to search but two were poisoned by toxic fumes and died. The other four escaped.

Since the early 1990s, more than 30 villagers have been sent to prison for robbing ancient tombs.

Farmers try to make a living by such thievery because of poor economic conditions in the village.
