A Shanghai woman is apparently the first woman in China to receive a private pilot's licence and is planning a 10,000-kilometre flight across the country, the Shanghai Evening Post reports.

Chen Yan, a local coffee house proprietor, is hoping to collect donations for the upcoming 2008 Paralympic Games to be held in Beijing from her adventure.

According to the plan, Chen will make her airborne journey through 28 cities. She will land in each of them and hold activities to publicize the upcoming games.
