With the victory, Juventus moves three points ahead of AC Milan, which will travel to Roma on Sunday in hope of taking back the top spot.

In the 65th minute Del Piero, who already hit the post in the match, found the back of the net with his left foot from inside the box.

Juve avenged a 2-1 loss at Reggina earlier this season and handed Reggina its third straight defeat.

Lazio and Siena played in Saturday's only other game. Igor Tudor's header gave Siena a 1-0 win to get out of the relegation zone.
