Wall-to-wall

Wall-to-wall,

后来wall-to-wall的含义逐渐延伸,开始表示“到处可见的,普及的”,例如:wall-to-wall people at the reception(招待会上所有的人);wall-to-wall luxury(到处可见的奢侈)wall-to-wall newspapers(满坑满谷的报纸)。

I went to this cocktail party last night but I walked out after fifteen minutes. It was wall-to-wall people - so crowded I couldn't even get close to where they were serving food and drinks.(我昨晚去参加那个鸡尾酒会,但是我进去十五分钟后就走了。
