Colombia's Junior defeats Uruguay's Nacional 1-0

Colombia's Junior of Barranquilla defeated Uruguay's Nacional of Montevideo 1-0 in the second phase of Libertadores Cup.

A goal by Martin Arzuaga, seven minutes before the end of the match held on Tuesday gave the victory to the Colombian team which was orderly and played with intelligence at Montevideo's Centenario Stadium, before 20,000 fans.

Nacional was coached for the first time in an official way by Martin Lasarte.

The Uruguayan team played well but lacked clarity to find its way into the rival goal.

Also, some of the Nacional players lacked rythm at the start ofthe Uruguayan league and Libertadores Cup is its first official tournament in 2005.

The Colombian team did not have many problems in its back, and resorted to counterattacks.

This was the first match of both teams in Group 5 in the second phase of Libertadores Cup.

The group is completed by Ecuador's Olmedo and Argentina's River Plate, which will meet on February 23, in Ecuador.
