Myanmar will host the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania zone Group Four tournament for the first time, the Tennis Federation of Myanmar (TFM) announced on Tuesday.

The Davis Cup matches will be played at the Theinbyu courts here from April 25 to May 1, the TFM disclosed.

Eleven countries -- Bangladesh, Brunei, Iraq, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, host Myanmar, Oman, Singapore, Syria, Turkmenistan and United Arab Emirates -- will compete in the week-long tournament, with five Myanmar players.

Myanmar finished third in the 2003 Davis Cup regional tournaments in Sri Lanka.

The country will also participate in a junior Davis Cup tournament in the Philippines in May.
