China lost to Norway 2-1 in their second group match at the eight-nation youth football championship in Qatar, one step from burying their second phase hope.

Head coach Yin Tiesheng rotated his starting line-up after a 2-3 defeat to South Korea.

But the rookie Wang Kun made a botch of his debut, fouling twice in the penalty area respectively in the 4th and 20th minute to gift the rivals a 2-0 lead and he was also sent off for his two rash fouls.

Unexpectedly, the 10-men squad found their form, creating chances to threaten rival's goal. But their attempts were cleared by strong Nordic defenders.

The only Chinese goal came in the second half as Chen Tao scored with a spot kick.

China will meet their last group opponent Ukraine.
