Poll: Incomes up in urban China

A recent Gallup survey shows that incomes for urban residents in China have risen substantially since the late 1990s to US$3,000, up by almost 75 percent since 1997.

For the past 25 years, China's economy has been developing at an average rate of about eight percent annually.

Gallup has conducted four China survey since 1994, which involves interviewing about 3,500 adults for each survey.
