Experts have called on private companies in Beijing, neighboring Tianjin municipality and Hebei Province to promote cooperation.

They made the call at a forum on the development of private firms in the three areas sponsored by business associations on Dec.28.

Zhou Liqun, professor and the dean of the Economics School of Nankai University, said that it is very important for private companies to join hands because the private economy in the region continues to lag behind other parts of China.

Qi Yiqing, general manager of the Beijing Kery Bio-Pharma Co., Ltd, said that Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei have their own advantages. Beijing has better information, technology, and human resources; Tianjin has harbors and logistics and Hebei has low-cost labor.

"The private enterprises in the three areas should break the regional barriers and use all these resources," said Qi.

Yan Xijun, president of Tasly Group based in Tianjin, said thatit is not enough for companies to just "feel" the market in moderntimes. Companies should work together to establish a platform to learn and exchange the latest information.

Experts also called for the development of a chamber of commerce and other industrial organizations in the region to provide better services to companies.
