Poet pedicab man pens ditties to attract trade
(China Daily)
Updated: 2005-01-04 09:15

A pedicab driver in Xi'an has written over 200 poems in the last two years to attract customers.

Wang Jianmin said he needed to do something to drum up custom in bad weather, or else he would have no fares.

One of his ditties translates:

"I work by riding my tricycle, even in rain and snow.

Serving the people honestly, I am so glad to send you everywhere you want to go."

It seems to have paid off and Wang, who does his own recitations, has maintained a steady trickle of customers, reports the Huashang Daily.
