Michael Redd scored 28 points and Desmond Mason
added 24 to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 115-87 win Tuesday night over
the Houston Rockets.
Marcus Fizer added 15 points and seven rebounds for Milwaukee, which
won consecutive games for just the second time this season. Since starting
3-1, the Bucks are is 5-15.
The 115 points was the most the Bucks have scored this season, topping
their 110 points in a double-overtime loss to Miami on Nov. 14.
Tracy McGrady led Houston with 20 points on 7-of-19 shooting, while Bob
Sura added 19 points and six assists. The Bucks limited Rockets center Yao
Ming to 10 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes.
The Bucks used a 17-4 run to start the third quarter to take a 77-47
lead on Redd's 3-pointer. Mason and Redd scored 15 points during the run
and ended up accounting for 23 of the Bucks' 30 third-quarter points. Mo
Williams' driving layup and free throw with 1.1 seconds left in the
quarter gave the Bucks a 90-59 lead.
The Rockets never got closer than 25 in the fourth quarter.
Milwaukee used a 20-10 run at the end of the first quarter to grab a
37-25 lead. Mason had six points during the run and finished with 14
points in the first quarter.
The Bucks went on a 20-5 run in the second quarter and took a 57-32
lead when Zaza Pachulia grabbed a rebound off a missed free throw and
scored with 1:23 remaining. Milwaukee held Houston to just five points
over the first 10 minutes of the second quarter.
The Rockets closed the second quarter with a 9-2 run to close to 60-41 at halftime as
McGrady hit a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining.
