Oscars 2006 shift to March

美国电影艺术和科学学院16日宣布,为避免与2006年冬季奥运会闭幕式的日期发生冲突,2006年第78届奥斯卡颁奖典礼的日期将被推迟到3月5日举行。2005年的颁奖日期不变。

Oscars 2006 shift to March

The 2006 Oscars are to be moved back by one week to Sunday, March 5, to avoid a conflict with the 2006 Winter Olympics.

The closing ceremonies of the upcoming Winter Games in Turin, Italy, were already slated to wrap up on the Academy Awards' "natural" 2006 date of Sunday, February 26th.

The Oscars, which are usually held in late March, were moved up a month to the last Sunday of February starting in 2004 for what originally was characterized as a two-year experiment.

The upcoming 2005 Academy Awards will stick to their tradition and air on Sunday, February 27th, on ABC from the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
