Chinese police officers release intercepted owls into the wild in Lanzhou, Northwest China's Gansu Province, December 15, 2004. Police officials said that 42 owls were intercepted on December 12 from a red Santana sedan near a railway station in Lanzhou. Owls are rare birds protected by China's Wildlife Protection Law.
