Film "Kekexili" wins Taiwan Golden Horse awards

第41届金马奖12月4日晚在中国台湾省台中市举行,包括《无间道3》、《大事件》、《2046》等多部强片在内的十几部华语电影共同角逐各大奖项。《可可西里》是首次被许参加金马奖的内地影片,初试锋芒就一举摘取最佳剧情片的桂冠。刘德华凭借《无间道3》获得影帝,而杨贵媚战胜张艾嘉获得影后,最佳导演落在了“老将”杜琪峰头上。

Chinese mainland film "Kekexili" has won best picture and best cinematography awards of the Golden Horse Film Awards in Taiwan, according to reports reaching here from Taipei early Sunday.

"Kekexili" depicts how Tibetan people in the Kekexili area have fought poachers to protect antelopes . It is the first Chinese mainland film to win the best picture in Taiwan's Golden Horse Awards.

Hong Kong once again was the biggest winner in Saturday night's film awards.

Andy Lau, a Hong Kong pop singer-actor, captured the "Best Leading Actor" award for his outstanding performance in the gangster film "Infernal Affairs III." This is the third time that he has been nominated and finally succeeded in winning the trophy.

The "Best Director" Award went to Hong Kong-born director Johnnie To for his brilliant directing of the film "Breaking News."

Taiwan-born actress Yang Kuei-mei won the "Best Leading Actress" award at the 41st Golden Horse Film Festival Saturday in the central city of Taichung.

Yang won the award for her gorgeous portrayal in the film "The Moon Also Rises."

Best New Performer-- Yang Yu-jung ("Formula 17") and Hong Hao-xuan ("Bear Hug");

Best Original Screenplay-- Yau Nai-hoi, Yip Tin Shing and Au Kin Yee ("Thrown Down);

Best Screenplay Adaptation-- Lin Cheng-sheng ("The Moon Also Rises);

Best Cinematography-- Cao Yu ("Kekexili");

Best Visual Effects-- Victor Wong and Brian Ho ("New Police Story);

Best Film Editing-- David Richardson ("Breaking News");

Best Sound Effect-- Cao Yuan-fong ("The Passage);

Best Documentary-- Nanfangao Story;

Best Short Film-- The Magical Washmachine;

Best Make Up & Costume Design-- Jean Chen and Wei-joung Lai

("Splendid Float);

Best Art Direction-- Chang Shu-ping and Chiu Tze-ming ("2046");

Best Original Film Song-- Theme song of "Splendid Float";

Best Original Film Score-- Shigeru Umebayashi and Peer Raben ("2046");

Best Action Choreography-- Lee Chung Chi and Jo Stunt Team (NewPolice Story);

Best Taiwan Film of the Year-- "Splendid Float";

Life Achievement Award-- A-Pi-po (actress);

Best Film of the Year Selected by moviegoers -- New Police Story.
