The Aussie movie star netted US$3.71m for her part in a four-minute Chanel No. 5 advertisement. The Guinness book editors note that the actress earned US$928,800 per minute.

The four-minute advertisement has been billed as "a fairy-tale romance," in which Kidman portrays a super star being pursued by paparazzi in a cityscape lined with billboards bearing her image.

The advertisement was directed by Baz Luhrmann, whose credits include Moulin Rouge, in which Kidman had the leading role.
