Updated: 2004-11-27 14:06

FIFA has informed the Chinese Football Association that China is to join Australia to share the Best Mover prize during next month's annual FIFA ceremony, in which other annual awards results will also be announced.

Despite a disappointing performance in the World Cup qualifiers, the Chinese team went up by 15 positions, to 49th, by the end of the year, owing to claiming the runner-up position in this summer's Asian Cup.

In addition, the team is also nominated as a candidate for the Fair Play Prize by the Asian Football Confederation.
