China's men's football team has just got a feel of the turf, hours before their crucial World Cup Asian qualifying round game against Kuwait on Wednesday night.

The visitors were allowed only on session on the very pitch of the game.

Team captain Zhao Junzhe says time is quite limited for them to get used to the environment.

"The field and weather conditions are indeed for us to get used to. But we'll try to minize their negative impact and focus on our own game," said Zhao.

Defender Li Weifeng sounds even more upbeat when commenting on their chances.

"The entire team is in pretty good shape and high morale. And the solidarity is also satisfactory. I'm confident in ourselves," said Li.

China now top the group of four which also include Malaysia and China's Hong Kong. But Kuwait promise to make their chances even with a home victory which will level their standing points at 12 apiece after five rounds.

The two teams are playing a double-round-robin series with the top finishers advancing into the next round of the Asian Qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
