13 killed in power plant explosion

A total of 13 people were killed in a blast at a power plant in Wu'an of north China's Hebei Province when the plant started trial operation Thursday afternoon.

The blast also injured a number people, according to sources from the Hebei provincial production safe authority.

Leading officials of provincial and local governments rushed to the spot soon after the blast. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
