Fireworks factory explosion kills 10

Rescue workers on Friday morning found two more dead bodies from the debris of a major explosion taking place in a local fireworks in Nanxian County of Yiyang City, central China's Hunan Province, bringing the death toll of the blast to 10.

Yang Guoqing, a senior official with Hunan Provincial Bureau for Supervision of Safety, said clearing up of the site of the blast came to an end.

The blast happened at Hedong Fireworks Factory of Baihe Village, Hekou Township of Nanxian County, around 1:10 pm Thursday, and eight bodies were discovered at the site of the explosion on the same day.

A dozen other people were injured in the blast which also destroyed six rooms.

Hedong Fireworks Factory was a legal entity and was operated by Li Fulin, a local villager. Cause of the explosion is under investigation.
