Italian champions AC Milan have secured the services of Kaka, one of their most important assets, until June 2009.

The Brazil international is among the best attacking midfielders in European football and played an important role in the Rossoneri's Scudetto winning campaign last season.

The 22-year-old joined Carlo Ancelotti's outfit before the 2003-2004 term from Sao Paulo and has now committed himself to the club for the next five years.

"Milan announces the contract extension of Kaka until June 2009," read a statement on the club's official website, www.acmilan.it.

Milan spent much of the summer in negotiations with their top players and coach Ancelotti about extending their stays at San Siro.

Last week, Clarence Seedorf signed a fresh deal and Ancelotti also put pen to paper on a new contract.
