China will further cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the future, which will surely make greater contribution to the peaceful use of atomic energy in the world.

Zhang Huazhu, director of the Chinese national atomic energy agency, made the remarks in Vienna Monday while addressing the opening ceremony of an exhibition on cooperation between China and the IAEA in the past two decades.

During the past 20 years, China's comprehensive cooperation with the IAEA and other agency members in non-proliferation has made fruitful achievements, said Zhang. The cooperation areas include nuclear power, nuclear fuel recycling, nuclear security and the application of nuclear technology.

The cooperation has also helped promote nuclear power development and nuclear technology application in China, he added.

IAEA Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei visited the exhibition, which is expected to end on Sept. 24.
