A Chinese riot police contingent for a UN peacekeeping mission in Haiti carries out a final maneuver Monday in a drill base in Shanghai. For the first time China is sending riot police abroad for a peacekeeping mission. The contingent, including 125 policemen and women, will leave for Haiti in two groups on September 12, 2004 and on September 27. [newsphoto]
