Yao Ming leads China into last eight

China upset Serbia and Montenegro 67-66 on Monday, clinching a spot in the quarter-finals and knocking the world champions out of the Olympic men's basketball tournament.

Yao Ming dominated inside, scoring 27 points and knocking down two free throws with 28 seconds to play to put his team up for good.

China will play Lithuania in the quarter-finals which begin on Thursday.

Li Nan added 14 points and Du Feng 12 points.
